London, the capital city of England, is home to many wonderful buildings and structures both old and new. This summer (2012) London is hosting the Olympic Games for the third time, (previous times being in1948 and 1908), and while I no longer live in England my British side required that I do something to commemorate this momentous occasion. So I began making simple line drawings of some of the London sites I find most memorable and thus began the London Sketches series.
This set contains, Big Ben, the clock tower on the north side of the Houses of Parliament, completed in 1858; the Tower Bridge, the famous bascule and suspension bridge crossing the River Thames, opened in 1894; the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames, erected in 1999; and the Gherkin skyscraper located at 30 St Mary’s Axe in London’s financial district, completed in 2003.
Cards are printed from magnesium plates on 100lb Pop Tone card stock made by The French Paper Company, one of the last small independently run paper mills in America. French Paper produces many wonderful papers and is extremely environmentally friendly, which makes us happy.
They are perfect for sending thank you notes, writing a letter to a friend, telling family about your wonderful vacation, or wishing somebody well in their travels.
There may only be one of this product listed but we usually have more in stock, we also sell the cards separately, so if you’re interested in a single design and don’t see it listed or you would like multiples send me a convo and I’ll work with you to put together a custom order.
